Edward J. Blieszner has been practicing for the last 23 years in the areas of civil litigation, construction law, municipal law and real estate. He has represented developers, special districts, highway authorities, cities and other municipal entities in negotiating and administering construction contracts and resolving construction claims. He has litigated matters relating to construction claims, sureties, insurance, bad faith, financing, governmental immunity and related topics on behalf of special districts and other governmental entities.

He was appointed a Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Colorado Department of Transportation to prosecute eminent domain proceedings to acquire property necessary for the expansion of Interstate 25 for what is known as the T-Rex project.

He served as the designated Hearing Officer for the City and County of Denver Departments of Public Works and Aviation from 1995 to 1999 where he adjudicated construction claims arising from various City projects, including multimillion-dollar claims arising from the construction of Denver International Airport. He has lectured on construction contracting issues for local government entities, construction law and mechanic’s and related liens at continuing education seminars. He is the author of the Local Government Contracting chapter of Colorado Construction Law, published by Continuing Legal Education in Colorado, Inc. in December, 1999 and is a member of the American, Colorado and Denver Bar Associations, and their respective construction law committees. He received the degrees of Bachelor of Architecture, cum laude, in 1978 and Juris Doctor in 1981 from the University of Notre Dame.
