

John R. Christofferson specializes and serves a range of Colorado public and quasi-public entities, including highway and transit authorities, Colorado Title 32 special districts, including metropolitan districts and water and sanitation districts, taxing entities and municipalities. He assists with the day-to-day legal issues, intergovernmental relationships, and other legal matters and challenges that arrive.
Mr. Christofferson has worked on organization of regional transportation authorities and special districts, including advising clients regarding statutory requirements for organization, elections and TABOR compliance. He also provides a range of legal services, including drafting, interpreting and amending establishing agreements, bylaws and other governing documents, contract drafting and administration, including consultant, construction and design/build contracts, and advises clients regarding Colorado open meetings and open records laws compliance, constitutional constraints and annual compliance cycles.
Mr. Christofferson earned his Juris Doctorate in 2003 from the Thomas Jefferson School of Law, cum laude, with a Certificate in Global Legal Studies. He earned his Master of Science degree from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville in 1997 and his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Colorado in 1994. Mr. Christofferson’s first career was in Sportsmedicine at the University of Tennessee.
